Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire and guide Pre-Med students at the University of Pittsburgh into careers in medicine. It is our goal to educate students on their future path and allow them to explore opportunities in healthcare to adequately prepare them for medical school. We aim to cultivate a community of like minded individuals to achieve their goals and serve their future patients with compassion, expertise, and humility.

Purpose

  1. To provide an environment that supports the creative ideas of pre-health students in-training. 

  2. To serve as a forum for discussion of health issues and develop a policy agenda for physicians-in-training. 

  3. To promote and maintain programs that enhance the quality of health care in the community. 

  4. To continue to develop leaders and pioneers of change in health care. 

  5. To seek, develop and provide membership services to the community of pre-health students. 

  6. To increase knowledge of health information among members and the public. 

  7. To encourage University of Pittsburgh pre-health students to become directly involved in the community and health care fields.

  8. To serve as a foundation for University of Pittsburgh pre-health students to build on; to ensure the success of these students; and, to help strengthen the ties between the University of Pittsburgh and the community.

  9. To consistently evaluate the actions/practices of the organization to ensure that they are in line with the stated purpose.
