Before applying for the shadowing opportunities listed here, you MUST complete the forms required by OMED and fill out the form making sure you did them right!

Critical Care Shadowing

This is an opportunity to shadow at UPMC Presbyterian and Montefiore Hospital and will take place at various dates from April 7th to APril 20th from 8 AM to 12 PM . This opportunity is to shadow various doctors in different Critical Care specialties. Sign-ups will close on March 28th at 11:59 PM. You must be a dues-paying member to be considered!

Why Shadow?

If you're thinking about med school, shadowing is a must. It’s the best way to see what being a doctor is really like—beyond what you learn in your classes. You’ll get to watch patient interactions, see how doctors make decisions, and experience the fast-paced (or sometimes slow) reality of different specialties. Plus, it helps you figure out if medicine is actually the right fit for you! Bonus: it looks great on your med school apps and gives you a chance to connect with physicians who can offer advice, mentorship, and maybe even a letter of rec.
